Recruited by Tom Siebel as a direct report on his e-staff to create one of the first internal executive talent acquisition functions within the technology industry. At the time, most all searches were conducted by large search firms such as Heidrick & Struggles, Spencer Stuart, Korn Ferry etc. Tom Siebel recognized the importance of talent as a core competency of Siebel System and recruited a former senior partner at Heidrick to establish this internal function at the company. Conducted over eighteen high profile searches including EVP WW Sales, SVP HR, VP Products, GM Financial Services Vertical, VP EMEA, VP International etc. This role was prelude to the creation of the Executive Talent Acquisition function that was later established under the leadership of Gab Toledano, EVP HR at Siebel.

Joined ICG pre-IPO as employee #7 to design, build and implement a world class, internal management recruiting capability. Responsible for building the global management recruiting group of seven search industry partners and forty professionals located in the US, Asia and EMEA regions. This group was considered one of the largest in-house executive recruiting capabilities in the industry and capable of conducting fifty concurrent management searches. Internet Capital Group, Inc. raised $2b of investment capital as a SEC 40 Act holding company and went public in 1999 (Nasdaq: ICGE) and was one of the top performing IPOs in in 1999. The business model of ICG was considered visionary for an investment firm. Additional responsibilities include the the development of internal information management system that provides all recruiting consultants to have real time access to status of searches along with management reporting for ICG leadership. ICG Management recruiting was world class.

After the sale of KidSoft, Inc. joined Hedrick & Struggles as new partner in the world renowned Menlo Park office. This office was recognized as a leader in the global firm and conducted many high profile searches including the CEO of PayPal and for Google. I was immediately recognized as one of the most innovative and top producing partners in the global technology practice. Conducted many high profile searches including working directly with Steve Jobs to recruit Tim Cook to Apple in 1998. Also, established the venture equity program that provided a global standard for earning equity for searches conducted for private companies. The venture equity program completed 1,500 transactions and realized over $100m of incremental profit to the partnership.

KidSoft was one of the largest electronic software delivery ventures in its era with over 1,000 unlocks per day at its peak and was bundled with Apple and Compaq multi-media computers.
